Constitutional Rights Project (CRP)

Constitutional Rights Project (CRP), established in 1990 in Nigeria, works for the promotion of human rights and the rule of law. In particular, their work focuses on strengthening and promoting the independence of the judiciary and working towards ensuring that the rights and freedom of Nigerians are in compliance with universal human rights standards. The CRP researches and publishes reports on the respect of human rights and the rule of law in Nigeria. In addition, CRP has established a litigation program which takes on individual human rights-related legal claims as well as class actions against unjust laws and policies.

Activities Related to Refugees and IDPs

The CRP provides legal representation to refugees who are facing criminal charges.
