University Hassan II Ain chok

The Faculty of Law at University of Hassan II in Casablanca hosts three connected programs focusing on migration, the Humanitarian Laws Study and Research Centre or CERMEDH, the Postgraduate Programme on Migration and the Law (in French UFR “Migration et Droits” and the UNESCO chair on “Migration and Human Rights.” All three programs deal with all types of migration, forced and voluntary, legal and illegal, and are coordinated by Dr. Khadija Elmadmad.

CERMEDH is an academic NGO hosted by the Faculty of Law and the University Hassan II in Casablanca. The “Migration et Droits” program is a training program for lawyers who specialize in the legal aspects of migration. The program offers a graduate degree authorized by the Ministry of Higher Education and aims to provide theoretical and practical training in the field of population movements and training. The program is part of the UNITWIN/UNESCO Forced Migration Network. The UNESCO chair stems from the network and aims to provide specialized information on migration and human rights and to develop teaching and research in these areas.

Professor Elmadmad has conducted research on refugees and displacement across North Africa and Sudan.
