Association pour la Protection et l’Épanouissement de la Famille (APEF)

The Association pour la Protection et l'Epanouissement de la Famille (APEF) was created on February 2, 1994 by a group of concerned citizens committed to helping others. The initial funds that were raised by the organization were used to rehabilitate spaces, which could serve as meeting places for youth and cultural centers for local communities.

Members and employees of APEF have benefited from training on the human rights of displaced persons, and put this into practice in APEF's programs. Since 2007, APEF has been implementing micro-credit programs for more than 300 local women financed by Fonds Social de Developpement. Since August of 2003, they have also provided community services in the refugee camps of Djibouti.
